Production center: machine interference model

Consider a group of identically skilled operators consisting of c persons in a production center handling a number of K identical automatic machines. The machines process workpieces with exponential distributed processing times. After processing of a workpiece, an operator is required to performe the next setup of the machine. This requires an exponential distributed amount of the operator's time.

The M/M/c:GD/K/K queueing model is used to computes the performance criteria of this production center.
