Kendall/Lee/Taha Notation for Queuing systems

Queueing systems are classified according to the following notation: (a/b/c):(d/e/f)

Symbole:

a distribution of interarrival times
b distribution of service times
c number of parallel servers
d queueing disciplin
e maximum number of customers in the system
f size of the customer source

For the parameters a and b the following notation is used:

M Exponential distribution
D deterministic
Ek Erlang-k distribution
GI general independent distribution
G general distribution

Examples for queueing disciplins:

GD general disciplin
FCFS first come first served
LCFS last come first served
